Mr. Cooper is a retired Special Forces Senior Weapons Sergeant and Intelligence Sergeant with over 20 years of operational experience working in hostile and austere environments throughout the world. Alan began his career in the United States Marine Corps with A Co 3rd Reconnaissance Company. Alan served in Desert Shield and Desert Storm, and was decorated for operating behind enemy lines during the first major ground offensive.

Next, Alan served four years with the 82nd Long Range Surveillance Detachment, where he served as a Military Free-fall team leader. Alan then continued his career with 1st Special Forces Group where he served on a Military Free-fall Operational Detachment Alpha team with the mission of conducting Strategic Special Reconnaissance.

In addition to his operational experience, Alan brings to AGS over 14 years of experience in planning, developing, and conducting training in support of various foreign and domestic missions all over the world. Training topics in the past have included; firearms, basic and advance combat marksmanship, close quarter combat, small boat operations, helicopter operations, scout swimming techniques, Military Free Fall operations, Advance Special Operations Techniques, physical security and access control measures. After retirement, Alan served as an Anti-Terrorist/Force Protection Adviser for Fluor Construction Company in Afghanistan for 15 months. He developed and implemented force protection measures, emergency operations programs, and conducted awareness training, to ensure the overall protection of Fluor’s workforce and assets against a hostile force in a non-permissive environment.

Alan attended numerous military schools while serving, schools include: Airborne School, Coxswain School, SCUBA School, United States Marine Corps Amphibious Reconnaissance School, Marine Corps NCO School, US Army NCO School, Special Forces Advance NCO School, Ranger School, Special Forces Qualification Course, Special Forces Weapon Sergeant Course, Special Forces Intelligence Sergeants Course, Special Forces Military Free-fall School, Static-Line Jumpmaster School, Military Freefall Jumpmaster School, Special Forces Advance Special Operation Techniques Level II Course, 1st Special Forces Advanced Reconnaissance Target Analysis and Exploitation Techniques Course and Survival, Escape, Resist, Evade High Risk (level C) Course.

Alan is a graduate of American Military University with a degree in Security Management that focuses on contemporary issues surrounding security management principles and theories, research methods in criminal justice and security, assets protection and loss prevention management, physical security analysis and evaluations, to include threat assessment, security survey, architectural design for security; homeland security issues involving border and coastal security, port security and vulnerabilities associated within the port environment; the threat of industrial espionage and competitive intelligence gathering tactics and techniques. The conducting of protective services as they relate to the protection of corporate executives; to include threat assessment, risk analysis, conducting advance, domestic and international travel, working the principal, and organization and management of a protective services detail.
