More than ever Law Enforcement and Military personnel are moving toward “scenario” based and “realistic” training. With the effort to create dynamic training, “shoot houses” are being used more often to create a live fire atmosphere in attempts to replicate a high threat environment. The push toward live fire training inherently increases the risk of injury during training. AGS has designed an instructor level program to reduce the risk and increase the confidence of Law Enforcement and Military personnel who are responsible for running training operations in a live fire environment.

Course Topics Include:
» Shoot house safety protocols
» Injured partner/officer
» Role of the instructor(s) inside of shoot house
» How to integrate static range into shoot house
» Live fire training scenarios
» Progression from UTM to live fire
» Low Light Operations
» Target placement and construction
» Shoot house construction

Instructional Method: Our program consists of a balanced mix, classroom sessions and hands-on training. We focus on practical training sessions during the whole training program. AGS shapes our students into professional shoot house instructors, who can mitigate their agencies risk through a safer training environment, enhancing lessons learned during stressful training.

Attendance: The students are required to attend and participate in all classroom lectures, practical sessions, and scenario exercises. If an emergency causes a student to miss a class segment(s), the student is responsible for making arrangements with the Instructor Staff. Upon successful completion of missed work, a certificate will be issued.

Testing: Each student will be expected to perform the skills segments of this course. The student will be evaluated on their performance on the firearms ranges, inside the shoot house, communication ability and will be conducting teach backs. The students must actively participate and show satisfactory performance in these tasks.
